After various hotfixes, it appears the Blizzard is now planning to release the game’s next major content update, Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.1, on the test realm. Aug 15, 2018 Patch 8.0.1, released July 17, 2018, is the systems patch for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, introducing new systems, removing old systems, and applying another stat squish in preparation for the launch of the expansion. Our favorite Knaifu is making a return and im sure it's got alot of people excited about it. We go over some of the text datamined and talk about what may be.

Aug 13, 2018 Patch 8.1 Speculation thread. If it takes off, and mods allow, might even turn it into the patch thread until we have some kind of idea about 9.0, then this thread can die. Made this post in the other thread, but I'm going to copy it. Game Director of World of Warcraft has revealed what’s in patch 8.1 “Tides of Vengeance”. There’s a lot going on for the players: two new raids, fresh war fronts, and more.
Wow Patch 8.1 Shadow Priest
So after finishing up the dungeons, all of the quests including the endgame one, and War Campaign. Is there any News on Patch 8.1 at all or when Arathi Highlands Warfront is going to show up?
8.1 I’ve heard rumored: We go to Nazjatar, a new rep there to grind for our Kul Tirans / trolls.
This will be our Broken Shore / Tomb area, except lots of Naga and Azshara raid.
Also two new dungeons in this area.
I’d imagine maybe an attunement quest line leading up to the Azshara raid dripped out over a few weeks similar to Tomb quest line.
I’d imagine somewhere down there it’s going to look like a sunken city with Azsharas palace being the focal point / raid entrance.
And oh so much naga, and probably faceless minions helping out. Squids / Fishes etc.
I’d imagine those diving helmets may have some use down there after all. And why the undersea Mount was relatively easy to get with fishing. I’d highly recommend everyone to go get their underlight pole as well.

For 8.1, I doubt there'll be any info before BlizzCon. For the Arathi Warfront, my guess is that it'll be released with Uldir and Mythic+ next week.

Layer Hopping Nerf Implemented Here comes the change to layering Blizzard talked about earlier, after concerns of abuse of the system. The hotfix has gone live on US and OC servers and implements a stacking cooldown each time a player swaps from one layer to another, which also diminishes when time passes without layer hopping. Free Character Move: EU Servers Detailed Blizzard has busted out the 'very soon™' card and are still being cagey about the exact time of the free character moves, however we do now know which EU servers (including English, French and German ones) will be eligible for the free transfers.
We have two new English servers opening up for the move itself, and the other 2 were also very recently added and have lower populations. However, the situation on the French and German realms isn't that great as the servers being moved to have similar populations as the ones moved from, as you can see from our realm population report from yesterday. But Blizzard has a much better insight into all of this so we're sure that the servers moved to are indeed less populated.
