Here's the story:
I got this CPU from a friend; it was Raid1 with Vista as the OS. I did a half assed job of researching b/4 I upgraded to Win7 - 32 bit. the HD's are Segate ST3250820A , I don't have any files or programs installed on it yet. I also have a Segate ST330 that I would like to use in this system if possible, all drives are 7200 Barracuda's. As I was reading on this forum I have to Raid it b/4 installing win7. Not sure what steps to take first.
Right now in Bios only one ST325 drive shows that it is mirrored as RAID1, with the RAID ID as 0. It shows I have 2 physical disks in my cpu on Port 0 and Port 2
If I am reading correct I would need to reformat both drives (ST3250820A) first; then raid each drive then install win7.
I would like to use the ST330 from my old system to hold my program files only and put the data files on the 2 Raid drives. Can I do that?
